The Joan E. Brown Scholarship auditions were held Saturday, May 20th, 2023 at the studio of Bonnie Thomas.  Bonnie, Marilyn Droz and Mary Beth Rogers were the adjudicators.  There were 6 applicants from 4 different teachers.  One applicant was unable to make the audition, so only 5 students were adjudicated.  The 5 students were all excellent candidates and eventually the three adjudicators decided upon a tie for first place.  The recipients of the Joan E. Brown Scholarship for 2023 are Noah Kim, student of Allan Park, and Eleanor Shirts, student of Dr. Jensina Oliver.  Congratulations to the students and their teachers!  They will each be awarded $1500.00.  The awards will be given at the Student Awards Gala on Friday night, June 2nd at 7:00 p.m. at Edgewood Baptist Church in Edmonds.
