Suzetta Glenn – Studio Openings Available
Area(s) of Instruction: Voice and Piano
I am a Charter Member and Past President of EMTA. I’ve maintained a private studio for 25 years, including the years I taught at two universities. I’m located in the south Everett / Mill Creek area.
Voice: I accept child, adolescent, and adult students. Lessons for all students include standard vocal techniques (appropriate to age and ability) to safely build and strengthen the voice and, ultimately, to be the tools allowing students to sing with confidence in many vocal styles. I have successfully prepared students for auditions and performances in opera, music theatre, oratorio, choir solos, college auditions, scholarship competitions, school talent shows, weddings, and for the joy of accomplishing personal singing goals.
Piano: Because I believe that piano lessons provide the foundation for all musical explorations, I teach beginning through intermediate level students of all ages. Additionally, I offer coaching sessions for piano collaborators who work with vocal soloists.
Academic Experience:
Voice Faculty, Ouachita Baptist University, Arkansas, 2006 – 2016 (Retired).

Shih-Yi Kuan graduated from a teachers college in Taiwan with majors in voice and piano. While teaching music in a public school for six years, her award-winning children’s choirs toured Korea and Japan. Shih-Yi graduated, with distinction, from a conservatory in Austria, with diplomas in Lieder and Oratorio and in Opera Performance. At the famous Meistersinger Competition in Graz, Austria, Shih-Yi was awarded the Audience Prize (first place) and received third place from the jury. She has been teaching voice and piano near Mill Creek since 1996. Shih-Yi believes in providing sound classical training as a foundation, but wants her students to develop a real love of music. A number of her students have performed in state-wide honor recitals and been accepted as voice majors at universities.”
