The Edmonds Music Teachers Association (EMTA) is a non-profit organization of music teachers providing private music lessons to our community. EMTA is committed to the advancement of musical knowledge and education by fostering professional standards, networking, and promoting the art of music through various events and festivals.

EMTA is affiliated with the Washington State Music Teachers Association (WSMTA) as a local chapter of their organization. WSMTA is dedicated to the advancement of musical knowledge and education by providing educational programs that further the musical advancement of its teachers and their students, which comprise the many state chapters under its umbrella.

WSMTA and EMTA are affliated with the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) as a subdivision of their organization. The Mission of MTNA is to advance the value of music study and music making in society and to support the professionalism of music teachers. MTNA provides a Code of Ethics for all members.
