2027 EMTA Musicianship Festival Information

Grab your sheet music and your snorkel: this year we are Diving Deep in the Musical Ocean for Musicianship Festival 2027. Join us on May 8th at Calvin Presbyterian Church for a musical adventure under the sea. Brush off your copy of “The Aquarium” from Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saens, La Mer by Debussy, Handel’s Water Music, “Under the Sea” from The Little Mermaid, or “Yellow Submarine” by The Beatles. So much wonderful music to choose!

Musicianship Festival is a “field day” of music events, including performance, composition, various projects, and the five Music Literacy Program exams. Students collect ribbons as they complete each event.

Here are the important due dates for this year:

Registration (completed by teacher) due March 15th

Student Submissions due April 13th

Event Day May 8th

Corrections Due May 18th

This event requires lots of volunteers to make it work! We especially need a volunteer to help with coordinating, scheduling, and communicating with our non-teacher volunteers. If you are willing to be our Volunteer Coordinator, please email the EMTA Musicianship Festival Chair.

We also would love to have a volunteer teacher specifically in charge of decorations! If you are a skilled decorator, please email the EMTA Musicianship Festival Chair.

For all other questions, contact the EMTA Musicianship Festival Chair, Mary Rose Walker-Lieberman. Her contact information is listed in the online EMTA member directory.
