Help Wanted – Holiday Gift Donations for Holly House – Judy Cook
Holly House is a Children’s Holiday Gift program providing food and necessities for low-income children in 16 Edmonds School district schools. The director, Pam Martinez, asked us to focus on teens and shared the “top 3 gifts” for teens:
Top 3 Gifts for Girls: Top 3 Gifts for Boys:
1. Make-up kits and nail sets 1. Nerf Guns (12 – 17 years)
2. Curling, crimping, straightening irons/hair dryers 2. Legos (12 – 17 years)
3. Girls’ Crafting Items (12 – 17 years) 3. Footballs, soccer balls and basketballs
Please bring your donations to the EMTA October and November meetings. At the general meeting on November 8, 2022, we will take a creative group photo to help with Holly House marketing and encourage other to donate!
Thank you for your generosity and reaching out to the teens in our community!
Help Wanted – Venue for Christmas Recitals – Shih-Yi Kuan
Help! I need a venue for two back-to-back Christmas Recitals for my singing and piano students. I have called a bunch of places including churches and music stores that I have previously used with no luck. Some are not renting spaces for fear of Covid while others have different reasons for not being available.
This is what I need: a good piano, seating for at least 80 people–students and their families–and about 5 hours of total time. I would need to hold the recitals sometime in December but not too close to Christmas. If anyone knows of a suitable place which is available, please let me know. Thank you so much! – Shih-Yi Kuan
Used Music Sale – Mary Beth Rogers
There will be a box of Christmas music available to purchase for $1 per book at our general meeting on 11/8! The music belonged to Maxine Nord, who passed away last year; and proceeds go toward our Student Awards Gala in June!

Community Recital Recap – Check out the program!
We had 25 students (many in costume!) from 8 EMTA teachers participate in the Halloween recital! Some Crista residents were there to enjoy the music and Julie Currie of Crista provided a nice reception in the library room across from Kings chapel. Thanks to all who were involved – next community recital is February 11 for Valentine’s Day!
