Seattle native, pianist Leah Deobald is a graduate of The Juilliard School where she received her Bachelor of Music in piano performance under the tutelage of Julian Martin. Top prizes in numerous competitions have led her to appearances on NW classical King FM radio in Seattle, Kansas Public Radio, as well as performances in Carnegie Weil Recital Hall, Seattle Benaroya Hall, and Catherine’s Palace, St. Petersburg Russia. Leah is a passionate pedagogue that focuses on holistic musical training which includes fundamentals such as sound production as the foundation of piano technique, context-based music theory, and aural skills. Mariya studied at the Music School for Gifted Children and at the Art Institute in Kharkov, Ukraine. She has over 40 years of classical performing and teaching experience. Mariya has consulted with Regina Horowitz (sister to Vladimir) and studied with students of legendary Russian master, Henrik Neyhaus. In Seattle, Mariya was a 1995 winner of the Soundmark live performance competition with KSER FM. She loves teaching piano to all ages and all levels from beginners to college level and is experienced in preparing students for national piano competitions.

I studied piano performance and broadcast news at Gonzaga University where I graduated in 1990. I’ve been teaching piano for 15+ years after my initial career in television news.
My primary goal is to teach children and adults how to play the piano musically and develop a love for creating music. I meet students where they are, tailoring my teaching to each person’s learning style, musical interests and temperament. I want to bring out the best in each one of them.

It’s never too late to learn to play the piano! Taking adult piano lessons is one of the best ways to exercise your entire brain, plus learning to play music can be great fun. I specialize in adult piano lessons where you learn the piano at your own pace while playing music you love. My adult piano lessons have reasonable rates, flexible lesson scheduling, and evening socials with other adult piano students. Free first lesson. I am currently offering lessons via Zoom or in-person.

Bonnie majored in music education at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and then continued her piano education at Sherwood Music School in Chicago, Illinois, earning her “Certified Teacher of Music” certification.
Along with being a church Choral Director, Bonnie teaches piano to all ages of students, specializing in teaching adults. She hosts monthly piano socials, September through May of each year. Bonnie’s annual piano recital concert is held every June. Teaching music has been her passion for over 40 years.

Keva Vaughan-McMorrow is a home grown musician (Oakland, Richland, Rome, Seattle, Edmonds) Studied at Mills preparatory School as a child. Bachelor of Music W.S.U. 1975, Rome Conservatory, Masters of Music U.W. 1981. Pianist, and celeste player, Cascade Symphony Orchestra for 30 years. Nationally Certified Teacher of Music 38 years, taught 40. Young children to adults. Past staff pianist for music programs at EUUC. 2010 and 2018 Washington State Composer of the Year. Certified Adjudicator for WSMTA in Piano, Composition. Published composer through Mandala Piano Works. Played in Europe, Carnegie Hall, and throughout the West Coast. Students played in orchestras, bands, held major church positions, teach in public schools, and placed in competitions at the State level.
