“The Musical Garden” is the theme for this year’s Musicianship Festival: This can mean flowers and gardening, but it can also mean bugs and dirt. This is a hybrid event like last year.
Registration will be open in early February on the EMTA website. If any of your students are participating in the Excellence in Music Awards, they need to volunteer to work and/or participate in the Musicianship Festival, as do you as the teacher! Please give the Student/Parent Information Letter to your students as soon as possible.

22 March 2025: Festival Registration Deadline – Teachers must register their students online after they have gathered the necessary information and registration fee. The registration fee is $35.00/student. Please fill out the EMTA Registration worksheet prior to registering your students to make things easier for yourself.

18 April 2025: Deadline for Virtual Student Submissions
Students or their teachers submit YouTube performance videos (with music pdfs for higher levels), and compositions through an online registration form. Please be aware that performance videos should not be edits to an old video for shortening. Please make your cuts to the original music to be under 3 minutes and then record the performance for the festival at the right length. No performance videos should be edited.

2 May 2025: Teachers to drop off materials and set-up at venue from 3pm-5pm.
4 May 2025: Volunteer festival clean up at venue from 3pm-5pm.
3 May 2025: In-Person Musicianship Festival from 9:00AM – 3:00PM
Teacher Volunteers, please arrive at 8:30AM.
The in-person Musicianship Festival will consist of the Music Literacy Exams, ensemble performances, and projects.
